Intravenous (IV) Nutrient & Vitamin Therapy

Intravenous (IV) Nutrient and Vitamin Therapy involves the administration of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, directly into the bloodstream in the form of a drip.

The IV method bypasses the digestive system, allowing delivery of greater quantities of nutrients and promoting maximum absorption. IV intravenous therapy is used to support your body immunity and is especially useful if you have digestive tract conditions that cause poorly absorption of orally administered nutrients.

WHEN IS IT USED?

Uses for IV Nutrient and Vitamin Therapy may include:

  • Correction of deficiency states, which may be due to malnutrition, severe illness or following surgery

  • Assisting in reducing symptoms and severity of cold or flu, and certain other viral infections

  • Supporting patients with cachexia (wasting)

  • Improving iron levels with iron injections or infusions

  • General purpose immunity boost

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Severe side effects from IV Nutrient and Vitamin Therapy are uncommon, however you may experience mild effects such as facial flushing, thirst, and mild dizziness. Nursing staff are on hand to provide the best care to patients and offer support and advice.

WHAT NUTRIENTS ARE ADMINISTERED IV?

Because each individual is treated according to their own specific needs and body indications, your personalised nutrient combination and therapy will be determined by our health practitioners.
